Cross Street hotel lawsuit dismissed

A lawsuit filed by an abutter to stop development of a hotel at the old J. Pace's spot has been dismissed.

Mary Beth Sweeney - who received funding for her lawsuit against the hotel from Osmin Alberto Montero, who in turn told her that the money came from Steven Meyer who has an interest in abutting 52 Salem St - and the architect agreed to dismiss the action with prejudice. Meyer denies bankrolling Sweeney's suit via Montero, but did acknowledge that he told Sweeney that he "would provide her with financial support".

The dismissal means that the BPDA's ruling to grant the required variances and allow the development stands. Both the Neighborhood Council and the Residents' Association opposed the development.
