More expansion for Travaglione restaurants in North End

Richard and Adriana Travaglione, owner/operators of Riccardo's in North Square and Giacomo's on Hanover Street, recently received approval to open a third restaurant: North End Lobster Company after getting unanimous support from the Neighborhood Council back in March. In 2021, they received approval to expand Giacomo's into the second floor of the existing space to add an additional 20 seats.

Today, the licencing board will consider whether to allow the family business to grow further by expanding Giacomo's into the space next door which was most recently operated as Pomodoro. The expansion would add about 28 seats to the existing 58-seat restaurant. If approved, the total number of seats in restaurants owned by the family (between the two expansions at Giacomo's and the addition of North End Lobster) will have grown by 92 in the last three years.

The existing midnight closing time would remain the same. An abutters meeting was held in late October and the Neighborhood Council unanimously supported the expansion at its 15 October meeting.

UPDATE

The licensing board approved this expansion.
