Neighborhood Council bylaws to be amended; special election expected
Neighborhood Council president Joel Faller outlined proposed changes to the Council's bylaws at the July meeting. Notably:
- Special elections may be held when there are six or more unfilled board seats
- Signature requirement to appear on the ballot reduced from 40 to 25
The changes are expected to be voted in during a special August executive session of the board after which a special election will be held in September. There are currently six unfilled seats on the board, so if less than seven qualified candidates submit their signatures, they will be appointed as members without the need for an election.
Residents interested in running should:
- Review the NEWNC Bylaws
- Print the signature sheet
- Collect at least 25 signatures
- Submit the signatures at the Nazzaro Center no later than 28 August
