Matt Shearer takes on North End Streets via box truck

Inspired by the @north_end_stuck_trucks Instagram account, Shearer - and the anonymous owner of the account - travelled down some of the North End's narrowest streets and tightest corners.

The North End's Jessica Dello Russo adds:

Thumbing through the @north_end_stuck_trucks instagram, what stands out is that most of the "stuck" trucks would have room to maneuver if the City enforced Article IV, Section 1, Part 4 of the City of Boston Traffic Rules and Regulations which states:

No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle upon any street or way within twenty (20') feet of an intersecting way, except alleys.

Article IV Section 1 of Boston Traffic Rules and Regulations prohibits parking within 20 feet of an intersection, but this is not enforced in the North End

Here are sixteen examples from the @north_end_stuck_trucks instagram of cars that are technically parked illegally - preventing another vehicle (truck) from maneuvering through intersections.

These trucks wouldn't stuck if the City enforced its rule against parking within 20' of intersections

Of course, it's all fun and games until an emergency vehicle can't get through (Courtesy @north_end_stuck_trucks instagram)
