COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics at North End and Charlestown Sites

On Saturday, April 9, NEW Health will offer a vaccine clinic at their North End site for people to come get all their vaccines (1st, 2nd, or 3rd dose), boosters, and pediatric vaccines for ages 5 and up. This will include the second booster shot for all who are eligible. Appointments are suggested and can be made in advance by calling 617-643-8000; walk-ins are also accepted.

An additional vaccine clinic will be held on Saturday, April 23, at their Charlestown site from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. All vaccines, including the second booster shot for those eligible, will be available. Appointments are suggested and can be made in advance by calling 857-238-1100; walk-ins are also accepted.

The second COVID-19 booster is recommended to certain individuals and will be available to those who are eligible:  for anyone 50 and older, a 2nd booster shot of Moderna or Pfizer at least four months after the 1st booster; for any adult who got two doses of Janssen vaccine, a Moderna or Pfizer booster can be given at least four months after their 2nd Janssen shot; and patients aged 12 to 49 with weakened immune systems can receive a Moderna or Pfizer booster at least four months after the 1st booster shot (Pfizer only for patients 12 to 17).

Regular PCR testing sessions are also still available. Appointments need to be scheduled in advance. Testing is available for anyone regardless of symptoms and insurance; the ongoing schedule at the North End and Charlestown locations is noted on www.newhealthcenter.org.
