Abutters meeting for Depasquale's Cross Street development scheduled for Wednesday

Frank DePasquale, the North Ends most prolific caterer to suburban cosplayers, has purchased the three properties on Cross Street between Hanover and Salem. Abutters and other interested parties will get the chance to hear about his plans and give feedback on Wednesday, 24 July at 6pm via Zoom.

From the notice, DePasquale's plans include:

Combine all three parcels of land into one, construct addition to accommodate change of occupancy to retail, coffee shop, ice cream store with takeout, sit down restaurant with accessory culinary arts/education use, outdoor veranda seating on upper story and three apartments with roof deck.

The property has been largely vacant and increasingly blighted since Martignetti's closed up in the mid-2000's. In 2016, Charter Realty Group purchased the property and proposed a 5,500 square foot development. The proposal was met with strong opposition. When a Starbucks was added to the list of potential tenants, opposition reached fever pitch and the development was ultimately scrapped. The Mayor (Walsh at the time) even threw his hat into the opposition ring.
